We’ve adopted a workflow that I’ve dubbed ‘Skype on Steroids’ where we use create a broadcast quality studio set up and fool an iMac into thinking it’s just a webcam.  The result is much better image and sound for our webinars or ‘Skype’ calls to media outlets.

Here’s a walk through of the set up:

One other thing that we do is make a camera recording at the same time we’re doing the webinar, and then drop that higher quality camera footage over the .mp4 footage that Zoom generates when the seminar is finished. I’ll also edit in better quality versions of Powerpoint slides, if the presenter used them in their presentation.

The completed webinar recording is then uploaded to Panopto, where it can be accessed later.
